Ooo good question! I think mine has to be wonder woman purely because she was so cool when I was a kid!
My favourite fictional hero is the same as Angela's - Wonder Woman.
Why? Simply because I had a Wonder Woman annual when I was very small and our family used to watch the TV series at the time. I became hooked - I *was* Wonder Woman! :D My Dad made me a costume - well, the headband and the wrist cuffs anyway :)
wow, mine is wonder woman too as she was my idle when i was a child and loved spinning around to turn into someone with power, now id love to just have her figure lol karen
Gosh, only one? I have quite a few book and tv and film heroines but if I can only have one... ummm... right now I'd pick Molly Hooper from Sherlock. She's brainy, determined, dedicated, caring, loyal, trustworthy and tough. She'd have to be to do battle with Sherlock every day.
Ooh tough one, I'm going to go with Lyra from his dark materials trilogy because she's an incredibly brave and resourceful character.
My favourite... Phedre no Delauney de Montreve from Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel's Dart. She's a strong and sexual woman, who is passionately loyal to those she loves. She's intelligent, compassionate and tough.
Jade Forrest
My fave is a woman from a set of Robin Hobb fantasy books. She is called Amber and she is a woodworker and jewellery maker in a small dock town. She makes beads from wood and becomes a confidante of the feisty female main character who is a sailor. She appears in other books and plays the fool and adviser to the king. She always takes the most humble position but through her wisdom becomes respected and valued. A key character in all books.
My hero is Coraline, she is super brave, clever and loves stripy gloves:-)
Have an awesome Christmas Louise,
Eileen Mole xxxx
My fav film heroine is private vasquez from Aliens. Seriously! because shes hard and i know shed have my back if an alien was after my brains..although i hope we wouldnt have to blow ourselves up in the end :-)
Lovely giveaway Louise. Well done on the 2000+
Nylah
Just ONE!! Tough! I would say Ron Weasley from the Harry Potter books - brave, loyal and just a little bit daft.
Emma
Difficult... i think I'll have to choose superman as i went to the cinema to watch all of the films when i was young, they're classics (I don't watch the remakes though)
Hmmm it's difficult...Childhood heroes are different to adult ones. I'd have to say Watson from Sherlock Holmes novels, S/he (depends on whether you watch the TV series or not as to gender) is tenacious, honest, intelligent and just never gives up :)
Sam (Blue Velvet on FB)
Professor Dumbledore from Harry.Potter xxxx Emma Elliott: o))
I agree its very tricky to pick just one but the first one that came to mind is the vicar of dibley!! It's not that I am religious or a vicar, but she always tries hard to make the best of every situation, an admirable quality. I suffer from her inability to say no to things that i really should and love the humour and willingness to laugh at life! You only get one chance, so lets make the most of it! Bring on the sparkle!! Anne Jones xx
I love Dr. Seuss characters in general, and the Lorax, in particular, as he is doing the conservation thing!
Miss Marple who often put herself in dangerous situations to catch the villan. Just using her knowledge and understanding of people.Christine Duckhouse
Lady Mockingbird is my online name, and you already know who I am, Louise.
My favorite fictional character, at least today, is actually a indivisible pair of Ravens from Norse Mythology.
Hugin and Munin, Odin's ravens who are his thought and his memory. My reason for loving them is twofold. First that they are Ravens which are a bird with which I have felt an affinity for as long as I can remember. The second is that they represent a large part of what it is to be human.
One of my favorite fictional characters is Atticus Finch from To Kill A Mockingbird. He's such a good man, decent, moral, and I believe if more of us were like him it would be a better world. He stands up for what's right no matter what people say about him. Karen Morris
Mine are Fred & George Weasley, on the surface they just seem to be a couple of prankster but as you get to know them you learn they are extremely caring, brave, loyal, intelligent & stand up for what they believe in .... & all done with a sense of humour even in the darkest of times

I'm really enjoying reading about your heroes - and I agree with so many of them! Thank you for joining in and making this giveaway a bit of fun for all of us. :) x
When I was little I always wanted to be George from the Famous Five because:
a) She was a tomboy (and so was I)
b) She had curly hair (as did I)
c) She got to go on adventures (I always wished I could)
d) She wore jeans (I wasn't allowed jeans!)
e) she had a dog called Timmy (I had an imaginary dog called Timmy who was my best friend in the whole world!)
From Cathy Rose
Mine would be Samwise Gamgee Lord of the rings! A true, trusted and loyal friend, someone to be really treasured.
Sandra Hill
It's gotta be Lassie. To do All those heroics with nary a hair out of place!
For me it's Jo from Little Women. Talented, hardworking, stubborn and always tried to do the right thing when the easier thing was available - my kind of woman!

Gosh, that's difficult! But at the moment, my favorite heroine is Katniss Everdeen from the The Hunger Games (books, although I love the movies too). She's so unselfish, brave, loving, caring and so strong. I love her! Thank you for letting me enter! I am so grateful and love your work so much! Warmest wishes, Kimi Springer
Mine is Anita Blake vampire hunter. A strong woman that has lots of cute guys around!
Oh wow! What an amazing question - it has really made me think. In all honesty, I have many heroes and heroines (especially from books) but my all time favourite would be Bruce Wayne/Batman.
I've never been a 'fan' of the simple hero - someone who always does the right thing. I like the heroes that struggle, the ones who make difficult decisions and have a little bit of darkness in them.
Are you going to tell us yours?
Clair x
I love Sherlock Holmes. He's so smart and witty!
I'll try again. Anne of green gables, a story to get lost in. Linda Horton
Snoopy is my hero. He is witty, charming, always ready with a big hug and never fails to make me, Jen Kundi laugh.
dear louise! first i want to thank you for your wonderful spirit and your art! this piece is delightful, i hope i win! and if not, then i'll find something to add to my ever-growing order, haha!!
i'm so glad you said hero/heroine (not super hero/heroine), because my favorite heroine in literature is Meg Murry in A Wrinkle In Time by Madeleine L'Engle. in this science fiction, meg travels to another planet with her brothers to rescue their father, a scientist, who was possessed by a giant brain that controlled the whole planet. one of the celestial beings who helped Meg helped her find her personal power over the the big IT: that was LOVE. and she succeeded in rescuing her dad (& also her brother) and bringing them back home to Earth.
when i encountered the book as a child, i didn't realize the far-reaching impact its symbolism would make. now it seems that humankind is fighting against a thing called Corporate Control. and the power we have to beat the world's evils is LOVE.
well, louise, i want to thank you so much for the LOVE you spread in this world. really, you could make earrings out of soda can tabs and you'd still spread as much love, but in addition to that you make these amazingly beautiful creations of wire and beads.
<3 your fan, rene
Yoda, his integrity and wisdom makes him my hero, plus he is able to protect himself if necessary but never seeks trouble.
From Sarah Pirtle @ Silver Dragonfly Chainmaille: My favorite fictional character is Data from Star Trek: the Next Generation. I relate to his social awkwardness, his logic, and his compassion.
I guess I would pick Gru from Despicable me - I realize he is an animated character, but he proves to me that you are never too old to become your best self... and sometimes you need a little shake up in your life to start down a different path...
Pat Silber
Mine is Hermione from the Harry Potter series. Loved watching her character grow throughout the books & the movies. I just love her spunk!
I think my first heroine was Charlotte from the book Charlotte's Web. She refused to give up on Wilbur because he was 'just' a pig.
Vicky Higgins-Carty
My fav fictional hero would have to be Alice from the book series The Last Apprentice. She's the only female main character and she's loyal, brave, and smart. She does what she has to do to save the world from her evil father even if it means her own life.
Larissa Walters-Vanover
Good question! If I have to select only one hero i choose Kay Scarpetta, from books of Patricia Cornwell. Why? Because she is Italian, she is a scientist, she is a Doctor, she has a open mind... she reflect me in a lot of things.
18 December is my birthday... so my fingers are crossed, I hope in a beautifull gift!!!
Rossana
Absolutely gorgeous! Jennie Hunt/Bolshy Biker Crafts and Cards
Jane Eyre has to be my heroine, she struggled through life growing up never having much love and attention. When she finally finds love it is tragically ripped from her. Although she nearly gives up on life she didn't, she battled through, accepting everything and then finally she gets not only love but stability. It makes me realise that things shouldn't be take for granted, you should cherish what your given, you work hard and eventually things come good in the end. Alison Rimmer
My favourite heroine would have to be Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. She keeps her word to her friends in difficult circumstances, and she never gives up on her dream to get home. And...she has fabulous taste in shoes! Jennie Hunt/Bolshy Biker Crafts and Cards
Superman is my favorite hero and Christopher Reeve showed some of that true hero attitude he might have received from his portrayal. After his injury and subsequent paralysis, he never stopped being a superman.. Loved that spirit..
I'm absolutely loving all your comments - thank you for taking the time to share your heroes and heroines with me. Many of them I agree with, some of them I don't even know (will have to rectify that!), but all of them are meaningful to you for different reasons. And it's wonderful reading those reasons, too! :)
Mine would be Bridget Jones as there is a little of her in all of us ladies ;)
Ooops sorry, Moozipan is Sue Barnes x
My hero is Piglet because he feels the fear and carries on regardless!
Dawn Niblock x
Agatha Raisin ... 'cozy' mystery written by MC Beaton ... she is my hero because she is feisty, fierce and flawed all in one. She is both smart and vulnerable. Not afraid to jump into the fire with both feet and yet full of all the foibles we all have.
oops, my name got cut short on my previous comment .... it says LinFehrs .... but should be Linda Carol Fehrs (I'm on FB like that)
